Why HOPE?
Why do people choose to attend Hope Church?
Stefanie F.:
I first heard about Hope from the UCC website. While I was in college I discovered that I didn't
agree with most of the Catholic Church's teachings and I started going to other
churches and I really liked the UCC. The first time I went to Hope I was amazed at the
sense of community among the congregation. I loved the music, the sermon, and the involvement
of the members. I kept going back and I now know that this is the church for me. I live in Joliet,
but the drive is worth it!
Suzanne, Steve & Aeden Farrar:
We would love to share the many reasons why we chose Hope Church!
1). The ministry and its people are fantastic. Without knowing a soul, we
were immediately greeted and accepted as friends from the beginning.
2). Hope Church and it's ministry in the United Church of Christ is exactly the
type of church my husband and I have been looking for. We love the open, accepting and non-literal
approach of Hope church and are proud to be part of it.
With each service we attend, we are again and again reminded that we, without a doubt,
chose the right church for us! Thanks for allowing us to share our input!
Valerie Tucker:
We were actually lead to Hope through the website. We had done a search of progressive/liberal
churches and found that the UCC would be a good place to start. Once finding the UCC
denomination, we did a search in our area and looked at the websites of various area UCC
churches. From the website, we LOVED what Hope stood for and thought it would be a great
place for us, but didn't visit for awhile b/c of the distance from our home.
I felt that the website gave us a lot of information about Hope, and that once we attented
(and have continued attending for a year), the feeling, atmosphere, mission, etc. of
Hope very much matched what we expected from the website. I especially liked that
the homepage said 3 things 1) God is still speaking 2) We take the bible seriously but not
literally 3) We welcome anyone who welcomes everyone...I feel that these 3 things tell a lot
about Hope!
